Primary Years Programme
The IB PYP for ages 3–12 develops caring and active lifelong learners.
At our school, the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) is grounded in the belief that every child is an active participant in their own learning journey. Agency is at the heart of our curriculum, woven throughout the learner, learning and teaching, and the learning community.

The Primary Years Programme (PYP) nurtures curious, confident learners through an inquiry-based, concept-driven approach. Learning is shaped through meaningful interactions between teachers and students, where teachers act as facilitators, guides, and co-learners. Through thoughtful questioning, personalized support, and purposeful collaboration, students are encouraged to explore ideas, think critically, and take ownership of their learning in a caring and engaging environment.
In a transdisciplinary learning approach, students explore ideas across different subject areas through purposeful inquiry. The programme is guided by six transdisciplinary themes that shape and connect learning experiences:
- Who we are.
- Where we are in place and time.
- How we express ourselves.
- How the world works.
- How we organize ourselves.
- Sharing the planet.
In the PYP, assessment is integrated into everyday learning. Rather than relying on traditional tests alone, teachers assess students through inquiry tasks, projects, performances, and reflections. This holistic approach values both academic development and the growth of skills, attitudes, and learner attributes.
Extra-Curricular Activities (ECA)
A wide range of extracurricular activities designed to enrich learning beyond the classroom and support students’ interests, talents, and personal growth:
- Mini soccer
- Badminton
- Swimming
- Basketball
- Doodle Art
- Art Paintings
- Coding
- Robotics
- etc
Through authentic inquiry, meaningful action, and reflective practice, students develop voice, choice, and ownership of their learning. Guided by the IB Learner Profile and Approaches to Learning, we nurture curious, confident, and internationally minded learners who are equipped to think critically, collaborate effectively, and take responsible action in a rapidly changing world.
Together with teachers, families, and the wider community, we create a learning environment where every student is empowered to explore, connect, and make a positive difference, locally and globally.
